About Steven Hill
Steven Hill, a celebrated ceramic artist since 1974, is renowned for his unique porcelain vessels and innovative glazing techniques. Influenced by a transformative trip to Tuscany, his work blends traditional methods with modern styles. An experienced educator, Steven has conducted numerous workshops across the country, emphasizing once-fired pottery and glaze spraying. He founded Red Star Studios in Kansas City and is an active member of 323 Clay in Independence, MO, where he continues to create and teach.
About Jonathan Kaplan
Jonathan holds a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. He has followed his muse for over 40 years as a production potter and ceramic artist, a university educator, a professional mold and model maker, a ceramic designer and manufacturer. Jonathan’s writings and work have been published in Ceramics Monthly, Pottery Making Illustrated, Ceramics: Art and Perception, Ceramics Technical, and Studio Potter. Additionally, Jonathan serves on the board of Studio Potter, owns and curates Plinth Gallery and seems to constantly reinvent his work and self.
About Donna Causland
Donna Causland is a ceramic artist living in Silverthorne, Colorado. Residing at 9000 feet above sea level, she is surrounded by the beauty and wildflowers that inspire her work. Donna graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1977 with a BFA in Ceramics, and since then, she has lived in Seattle, Washington, Dunedin, Florida and Silverthorne, Colorado cultivating her ceramic knowledge from workshops and other clay artists.
Donna served as a Resident Artist for the New Harmony Clay Project in New Harmony, Indiana in 2022 and previously completed a residency with The Pottery Workshop in Jingdezhen, China. She exhibits her work annually at the Vail Farmer’s Market & Art Show and the Minturn Saturday Market every weekend from mid-June to October.
