A Backyard Evening Well Worth Raising a Glass To!

First and foremost, a heartfelt thank you to Geoff, Executive Sommelier, and his wonderful wife, Andreea, for helping make our backyard wine tasting such a special evening. Geoff guided us through a fantastic selection of wines, and Andreea added her beautiful event touches that made everything feel extra festive. 🥂

And thank you to all of our friends and neighbors who joined us! ❤️ You made the evening truly memorable—not only by coming, but by contributing to the celebration with shared bottles of wine, delicious dishes, and even Frank’s beautiful lighted umbrellas that made the backyard glow.

It was one of those evenings that reminds us just how fortunate we are to live in such a wonderful, generous community. Good wine, good food, beautiful surroundings, and even better company. What more could you ask for?

A broken majolica plate weathered by time. Red poppies dancing in the breeze. Ancient architecture standing as a testament to generations before us. Sacred icons that invite reflection. A simple meal shared with gratitude. Moments of solitude that allow creativity to quietly emerge.

As artists, we gather these fragments of beauty, memory, color, texture, and meaning—and carry them back to the studio, where they find new life in clay.

Arrived at St. Peter’s Basilica at 7am… and the line was already long for entry, but the morning was beautiful.

Stepping inside was almost impossible to describe. The scale of it all — the towering ceilings, endless marble, gold, sculptures, mosaics, and light pouring through the windows — makes you feel incredibly small in the most beautiful way. Every inch holds breathtaking artwork and architecture that took generations to create – generations!

I unexpectedly found myself sitting in an Italian service in the Chapel of the Holy Sacrament. I may not have understood every word, but it felt good to be in church away from home – and in a very traditional service.
